Kinnosuke
is one of the few admirers of Kotoko, and the most ardent one. [Note: The
word 'ardent' is an understatement.] Kinnosuke is extremely fervent and
passionate and does not hesitate in expressing his affection for Kotoko. He
is somewhat like Kotoko - clumsy and stupid yet determined. [no offence!]
(By the way, he was compared to a monkey by Chris' father later.) He has
been in love with Kotoko ever since their first year in college, as he says,
and his only love is Kotoko. However, sad to say, his love was not
reciprocal ^^;;. He was more than horrified when he found out that Kotoko
has in fact, been secretly in love with Naoki and when he later found out
that Kotoko and Naoki are actually living under the same roof. However, Kin
(as most people call him for short) does not give up and continues courting
Kotoko [this kind of reminds me of Kotoko], though Kotoko obviously prefers
Naoki much, much more. He regards Naoki as his love-rival and hates Naoki,
though Naoki on the other hand doesn't really see him fit enough to be a
love-rival. However, Kin was the one who indirectly 'forced' Naoki to
propose to Kotoko. What happened was, Kin and Kotoko were dating (Kotoko was
trying to give up on Naoki because Naoki was going to marry a girl called
Sasuiko) and Kin then proposed to Kotoko, and when Naoki found out about it,
he himself proposed to Kotoko. ^_^ Kotoko, of course, accepted, leaving Kin
in utter despair. However, Kotoko's marriage with Naoki does not stop him
from giving up on Kotoko. ^^;; Later in the manga, an English girl, Chris,
appears and she fell in love with Kin. Everyone was shocked ^^;; because
Chris is a pretty girl and no one expected her to fall in love with a
not-so-good-looking guy [no offence!]. Though Kin rejects her flatly, saying
that his only love is Kotoko and Kotoko alone, and treats her rather coldly
[that kind of reminds me of Naoki], he later begins to like Chris and
eventually proposes to her ^.^.
Sudou
is Kotoko's and Naoki's senior in the Tennis Club in university. [One of his
most striking feature is his moustache, in my opinion.] As Kotoko always
says, he has something like a double personality - i.e. when he is not
playing tennis, he is like a good friendly man but when he holds the tennis
racket, he becomes the total opposite, aggressive and fierce. His tennis
skills are good, but not as good as Naoki. Thus, he regards Naoki as his
opponent in tennis and always challenges Naoki to a match whenever Naoki
comes for tennis practices, though he (almost) always lost to Naoki. (The
only time he won was when he intentionally matched himself with Reiko and
Naoki with Kotoko ^^;;.) He likes Reiko and therefore, gives Reiko special
treatment and always tries to pair her up with him in tennis matches and all
that. Reiko however, likes Naoki and doesn't fancy Sudou a bit ^^;;. Sudou
continues courting Reiko even when the both of them are out of university,
but apparently to little avail.
Takendo
is another of Kotoko's admirers. He is one year Kotoko's junior. He first
appears in Volume 7, asking Kotoko to be his girlfriend. Kotoko was very
surprised because it was the first time she was being asked in this way and
besides, Takendo is very handsome. Takendo was to an extent a little
like Kin, as in he doesn't hesitate in showing his love for Kotoko. Takendo
tells Kotoko that he has been noticing her since college and admires the way
Kotoko never gives up despite Naoki's aloofness. He says that Kotoko should
forget about Naoki. He also says that he will make it come true sooner or
later and he will give Kotoko time. Kotoko did feel touched because Takendo
was very caring towards her. Takendo later finds out the one Kotoko really
loves is Naoki and that he cannot do anything to make her love him more than
Naoki. He eventually becomes a couple with Ayako. 
Keita
is Kotoko's nursing friend. He aspires to be the best nurse in Japan and
wants to give the best treatment to patients. He always shouts at Kotoko
whenever she does something wrong (which is very often ^^;;) and says that
Kotoko can never be a nurse, or the patients' conditions will worsen. It is
very unexpected that Keita likes Kotoko, as we will find out somewhere
around Volume 15. Keita once told Kotoko that the one Kotoko needs is him,
and not Naoki because Naoki is too 'cold-blooded' (i.e. no emotions) and
aloof and that is not how a couple should be like. However, he later gives
up on Kotoko when he found out that the one Kotoko loves is Naoki and that
Kotoko only sees him as a friend. [hmm... actually I feel that Keita himself
is quite good-looking ^.^] Keita once made Naoki jealous because he was
rather close with Kotoko (refer to Volume 15). He later becomes a pair with
his patient.
Miki
is Kotoko's nursing friend as well. 'She' is actually a he [I'll just refer
to Miki as 'he'] - he calls himself a female who is born as a male. He
dresses like a female and all that. When Kotoko first saw him, she felt that
he was a charming lady, till she heard his low, man-like voice ^^;;. Just
like Marina, Miki is head over heels in love with Naoki. He even set up an 'Irie
Naoki Community Club' ^^;;, with himself as the president/ chairman (Marina
is a member as well). Like Marina, even though he knows that Naoki is
Kotoko's husband, he still doesn't give up on Naoki and keeps on trying to
get close with Naoki [what a friend...]. 
Funetsu
is Naoki's classmate in the medical faculty. He treats Naoki as an opponent
(or rather a rival) when it comes studies, though Naoki doesn't really see
him fit enough to be his opponent ^^;;. Funetsu is more of the hardworking
type while Naoki is more of the genius type - and even though Funetsu tries
very, very, very hard to beat Naoki for even once (and Naoki doesn't work
half as hard in my opinion), he always loses to Naoki ^^;;. This makes him
rather depressed and furious. Reiko later told Kotoko that Funetsu used to
be the most intelligent one in college and that he has always hoped to get
first in the national exam. However, it turned out that the first is Naoki
instead (obviously). Funetsu was humiliated and just to beat Naoki, he went
to Tonan University (even though he got into T Dai, the best university) and
switched from the Faculty of Science and Engineering (where Naoki used to
study) to the Faculty of Medical Sciences (where Naoki switched to).
However, as Reiko said, no matter how much he tries, he can only be second.
Funetsu gets extremely provoked whenever someone calls him 'second'. Funetsu later falls deeply and madly in love with
Marina. Everybody was shocked because they did not expect Funetsu to fall in
love at all [well... he apparently doesn't seem like he would pay attention
to anything or anybody besides books] and the one whom he fell in love with doesn't really
seem l ike his type of girl - Marina is the more
'playful and wild' type whereas Funetsu is the more 'bookworm-ish' type.
Marina, however, doesn't really fancy him, though we can see that later on
she does get touched by Funetsu's fervent love for him. After graduation, Funetsu and
Marina work in the same department (surgical department) in the hospital, whether coincidentally
or intentionally.
