Itazura na Kiss is a Japanese manga done by Kaoru Tada. It consists of 23 volumes... there ought to be more but Kaoru Tada died before she could finish drawing the whole series of the manga -_-,. Aihara (and later Irie) Kotoko is the main
character of the story and from whose point of view the manga is written
from. She is a clumsy and academically-weak student, but she is righteous
and persistent. The manga mainly talks about her love life with Irie Naoki,
a guy from the A-class (Kotoko is from the F-class). "I don't want it." -- Naoki The manga starts with Naoki rejecting Kotoko's love-letter. Kotoko has been in love with this guy, who has an IQ of 180, is very handsome, excels in sports, etc, for three years already. She decides to give up on Naoki, only to find out the next day that her house has collapsed due to a minor earthquake and they're going to live in the Irie household - Kotoko and Naoki will be living under the same roof ...! Her love for him rekindles with time... However, Naoki (who is known to be aloof to girls) remains cold towards Kotoko no matter how hard Kotoko tries to win his love. However, Kotoko loved him too, too much to give up on him. [Actually, if you read the manga carefully, you will be able to spot subtle tell-tale signs of Naoki's love for Kotoko.] Naoki later proposed to Kotoko and they got married (Volume 10)! Aihara Kotoko has become Irie Kotoko now! However, even after their marriage, Kotoko had a hard time trying to 'shoo' all the girls who got attracted by Naoki away. Naoki, though, remained faithful in his love for Kotoko. Later on, Naoki became a doctor (and a very outstanding one) while Kotoko became a nurse, working beside him. Kotoko was, however, usually not much of a help because she often made clumsy mistakes. The manga ends with a big question mark as to whether Kotoko is pregnant.
